Scope

The d.confestival will be the 1st international multi-layer forum for design thinkers, veterans and new, to discuss Management, Learning and Research in the field of design thinking in an international atmosphere of camaraderie, investigation and realization.

Design Thinking is a multidisciplinary user-centric approach for developing products, services and concepts for any field of life. In the past years design thinking became more and more en vogue. Today, some of the first prophets of the innovation approach have already thought further. What is design thinking today? Are there similar approaches under different names? What kind of best practice examples can be found? What are the research activities in the wider field of innovation, management, and design and design thinking today?

The endemic design thinking directive “show don’t tell” will set the tone for interactive discussion, panels and workshops. In fact, a design thinking approach will even propel the event production - revealing surprising time-based creations as they develop throughout the three-day event.

Motivation

The 1st international d.confestival is initiated by the d.schools of the Hasso-Plattner-Institutes in Potsdam and Stanford. The prelude will be in Potsdam since the HPI D-School will celebrate its 5th anniversary. Prospective the d.confestival will travel around the globe and will be facilitated by different international institutions dealing with the concept of design thinking and radical collaboration. Be there to help determine the future of design thinking and prepare for the future of the d.confestival.

Hasso Plattner, David Kelley, George Kembel, Larry Leifer, Uli Weinberg, Christoph Meinel and many more of the Design Thinking pioneers will be there….will you?
