During the three d.confestival days, a wide range of activities will be offered such as speeches, panels, round tables, workshops and other interactive activities that provide the scientific community with the opportunity to share their insights and methods. Notable scientists from the fields of design thinking, management and engineering are invited to give keynote talks.

PhD Track

PhD students from different disciplines will have the opportunity to present and discuss their research results with other scholars. The d.confestival’s PhD track therefore invites PhD students from all disciplines who are dealing with innovation to participate in the Call for Contribution. The d.confestival will provide a basis for further cooperation between researchers and practitioners. Invited to submit are all researchers who already have graduated or who are currently doing a PhD. The idea of the PhD track is to present your own PhD project idea and to discuss the topic within the community. We are looking for groundbreaking research contributions that are dealing with innovation in the fields of engineering and management.

Among the possible topics are:

  • Current theory formation in the field of design thinking
  • Specific methods, practices and tools that are related to design thinking
  • The role of design thinking in the fields of industry or education
  • The psychological aspects of design thinking as empathy, emotions or creativity
  • The historical development of social and technical influences that shaped the concept and practices of design thinking.
