Stefan Stieglitz
Dr. Stefan Stieglitz studied business administration in Cologne, Paderborn, and Potsdam and now works as an academic assistant at the University of Potsdam. His research activities are concentrated on economic and technological aspects of collaboration software and virtual social networks. As part of his doctorate, he tried to determine which control- and motivational-mechanisms apply to virtual networks from the viewpoint of businesses.
During the new economy boom, Mr. Stieglitz and some fellow students founded an IT company that developed software solutions for businesses and universities. From 2006 to 2008, he worked as a project manager for the Stock Exchange Berlin AG.
Currently, Mr. Stieglitz is researching the possible applications of virtual worlds for customer integration, as well as the potential of mobile communities. He has published numerous papers in international journals and talked at many conferences. He is also a reviewer for several different international conferences in the field of business informatics.
