Challenges and Concepts in Service Engineering

tele-TASK-Aufzeichnung des Vortrags

Enabling low cost realization of new innovative applications in heterogeneous software environments and easing adaptation of existing ones to reflect changes in the market environment and technological infrastructure contribute to the vision of service oriented architectures. While this vision is shared by many, industrial up-take of service-oriented architectures lags far behind expectations. Rich semantic specification of services opens the door for service discovery, advanced service composition, and adaptive service enactment. In the technical level, a tailorable service-oriented reference architecture and a powerful service infrastructure are essential to lower the technological barrier of adopting service-oriented architectures. The talk will introduce an architecture framework that is being developed in Adaptive Services Grid, an Integrated Project in the 6th Framework Programme of the EU.
