IBM Information Server QualityStage - Methodology and Technology

tele-TASK-Aufzeichnung des Vortrags

In this talk I present the QualityStage approach to data reengineering. Businesses need to build a single view of customers, suppliers, assets, etc. to drive a better understanding of their business and processes and to create actionable information. Many factors contribute to making this a challenge – lack of standards, unstructured data, multiple data sources – a myriad of data anomalies. QualityStage attacks these problems with a four phase methodology: Investigate the data to understand the anomalies; Standardize the data to prepare for matching and other uses; Match to identify records that most likely represent the same entity; and Survive to create a best representation of each entity. QualityStage Match is an application of Record Linkage Theory. In the last part of the talk, I discuss how Match compares data and its tactics for handling large volumes of data.
