End-to-End E-voting over Internet: Scratch, Click & Vote

Election with vote casting over Internet is a challenging security problem: how to ensure vote anonymity, prevent vote selling (or coercion), and produce verifiable results? These requirements seem to contradictory and leave little hope for finding a working solution.

Recent advances show that it is possible to construct secure schemes without assuming that some party in the protocol is honest. The end-to-end systems developed work in particular in case of malicious computer used by a voter for casting a ballot.

We report the recent proposal Scratch, Click and Vote, which is joint work with Filip Zagorski. While it borrows many ideas from Punchscan, Pret a Voter and Threeballot schemes (designed for paper based procedures), it seems to fulfil all security requirements stated for e-voting over Internet.
