Recently we see many really innovative technical developments in the Internet and its usage which are subsumed under the notion Web 3.0. Thereby Web 3.0 stands for the Future Internet with its three central pillars "Social Web", "Semantic Web" and "Service Web". We, the research group of Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel, are actively driving these developments with our research work by designing and developing novel Internet- and Web-technologies and applications as well as by investigating the underlying basic principles and their various impacts. Currently we are focused on
- ... Safer Internet - aims at providing a technical solution for a more protected use of the Internet for families, schools, and Internet users in general. The main goal is to tackle harmful and objectionable content such as pornography, violence or racism based on individual user preferences and without imposing forced censorship on users,
- ... Car-to-Car Communication: Our Vehicular Networks Environment Simulator eWorld that provides a framework to import mapping data from providers, such as OpenStreetMap.org (OSM), visualize it, edit and enrich it with events or annotational attributes and pass it to traffic simulators,
- ... Collaborative Communication:The famous IT-Gipfelblog which provides a platform for discussing national issues concerning development of information technology
- ... Semantic Multimedia Technologies and Semantic Search: MEDIAGLOBE is part of the THESEUS research program and aims at opening up audiovisual archives of cultural heritage to enable exploratory and semantically enhanced search as well as YOVISTO, which provides innovative content based search within more than 8.000 video recordings of university lectures and scientific conference talks.
- ... A Semanic Search Engine for an educational environment based on natural language user questions - e-Librarian Service -
- ... Web Usage: Tools for discovering the students learning interest from usage data in web-based learning environment, which is the further and auxiliary project for tele-TASK - TASK_Moniminer
- ... Lecture Browser: The research and design of a learner centric tele-TASK Portal Interface to assist students in the exploration and personalization of tele-TASK lectures by providing various powerful semantic means for screening, searching, navigation, personal annotations,
- ... many others more.
