Franka Grünewald (nee Moritz)

is a PhD student at the Internet Technologies and Systems group of Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute. Her research focuses on the connection of social and semantic web with e-learning. A major part of her research deals with supporting learners in their information seeking, gathering and processing workflows by providing user friendly web tools.

Franka is member of HPI's tele-lecturing portal tele-TASK team, which contains educational lecture recordings. There she develops the community area "My tele-TASK".

Her second research interest is web usability and usability evaluation. She was one of the supervisors for the bachelorproject "Tele-TASK 4 Usability", which is a cooperation project of the HPI and the company D-Labs and took place from October 2010 until June 2011 and concluded with 4 bachelor thesises. A mobile usability testing environment was successfully developed throughout the project. For more information listen to the final presentation on tele-TASK or read the press release.
