General Information
- Student exchanges should be conducted in the first and/or second semester of master studies. This means that you need to apply when you are in the fifth bachelor semester. Using your knowledge and skills that you developed in your bachelors studies, we expect a fruitful and successful stay at the host university.
- In principle, it is possible to go aborad as bachelor student, but it is discouraged.
- You need to be either bachelor student or master student when you go abroad. Persons who are not enrolled at University of Potsdam cannot participate in the student exchange.
- There are other options for your student exchange, including the fourth semester. In this case you need to apply in your first semester.
- We do not expect students to be on leave during their fifth and sixth semester, because the bachelor-project and bachelor thesis are typically conducted during this time frame.
- The Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP)/Erasmus is a European Commission program to support academic student exchanges and teaching staff exchanges within Europe.
- HPI students are maintaining a web page with more information and travel reports.
- The university of Potsdam offers programs to study at various other non-European universities.
- Language courses: Potsdam university offers language courses both for German and for other languages at Zessko.
- We encourage students to take advantage of the student exchange programs. The partner universities offer a variety of interesting courses that can be used to own credit points for their HPI studies, based on the ECTS system.
- Besides the HPI student exchange program coordinator, the Akademisches Auslandsamt (AAA) of Potsdam University is happy to assist you in any questions on student exchange programs in general and the Erasmus program in particular. Regularly, information meetings on the Erasmus program are organized, and interested students are invited to participate. More information can be found at the AAA web page.
- In case you are not accepted for the Erasmus exchange program, you might find the PROMOS program valuable.
