Industrial, Applications, and Experience Track

August 28 to September 1, 2017 in Munich, GermanyDeadline: March 1, 2017

VLDB's Industrial, Applications, and Experience Track covers innovative commercial data management systems, applications and database implementations, novel applications of database technology, and experiences in applying research advances to real-world problems.

 

Topics of Interest

The topics addressed may include consumer or enterprise data management problems. Description of products or products lines must have a strong technical component, with a clear description of use cases and the technology behind it. New applications, challenging use cases, and in depth analysis of technology trends are highly welcomed. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • High Performance Query Processing
  • Data Preparation and Data Wrangling
  • Data and Text Analytics
  • Application Areas (Finance, Government, Retail, TelCo, Health and Life Sciences, Social Networks, ...)
  • Big and Streaming Data
  • Database and Software as a Service
  • Database Appliances and Self-Managing Systems
  • Distributed and Cloud Computing
  • Sensor Data and Time Series Analysis
  • New Hardware Trends
  • Social Networking and Graph Databases
  • Web Data Management and Data Lakes

 

Paper Formatting

Industrial track submissions must be in camera-ready format using the PVLDB formatting instructions, and are limited to 12 pages, inclusive of ALL material. Industrial track submissions must be submitted electronically, in pdf format, by March 1, 2017 (5 PM PST) using the Conference Management Tool for VLDB 2017. When creating a new paper submission, you will be given the option to choose a track. Choose the "Industrial" track for your submission. Please see the submission and formatting guidelines on the web pages for more information about formatting, the submission process, handling conflict of interest, and originality requirements.

  • Paper submission deadline: March 1, 2017, 6pm PST
  • Notification: April 15, 2017
  • Camera-ready deadline: May 15, 2017
