Ulrich Weinberg

Managed by Prof. Ulrich Weinberg, the HPI-School of Design Thinking offers a novel postgraduate program named “Design Thinking”, which is unique in Germany. Modeled on the renowned "d.school" at Stanford University (California), the one-year academic program provides students with an opportunity to develop particularly user-friendly IT-related products and services in multidisciplinary teams.

What is revolutionary about the “Design Thinking” approach is that the three to four students who work together in a group as well as their professors and lecturers all come from different fields of study. As a consequence, computer scientists work side by side with usability experts, designers, business economists, medical scientists, biologists, and social scientists on innovative solutions and prototypical developments.
